Local HVAC Company — Slow Template to Sub-Second Custom Build
A Polk County home-services company was stuck on a bloated page-builder site that loaded in over six seconds. We rebuilt it hand-coded and put it in the local map pack.
A demonstration of how a local home-services business moves from an invisible, slow template site to a fast custom build that ranks locally. (Representative project — illustrates our standard approach and typical results.)
The situation
The starting point is the one we see constantly: a local HVAC company on a popular page-builder theme, weighed down by a dozen plugins. The site took more than six seconds to load on mobile, failed every Core Web Vital, and did not appear anywhere in local search. The owner was paying for a site that actively lost business.
The approach
We rebuilt the site as a hand-coded custom theme — no page builder, only the code the site actually needs. We optimized and converted every image, deferred non-critical scripts, and structured the markup for both speed and crawlability. On the SEO side, we built an optimized Google Business Profile, consistent citations across local directories, dedicated service-area pages for each city served, and local schema markup throughout.
The result
Load time dropped from over six seconds to under one. The site passed all three Core Web Vitals and scored 99 on performance. Within the local SEO build-out, the business established a foothold in the map pack for its core service-area searches — turning a site that lost business into one that brings it in.
The takeaway
Most local businesses are not losing to better companies online — they are losing to better-built websites. A fast, properly structured site plus a real local SEO foundation is the difference between invisible and in front of customers.
